The particle -에 /e/ also has the meaning of direction of movement – ‘where to?’

The particle -로/으로 (ro/ɯro) is used as a particle denoting the instrument of action. The ending -로 /ro/ is used after vowels and ㄹ /ɭ/, the ending -으로 /ɯro/ is used after consonants.

The particle -로/으로 (ro/ɯro) can also be used in the sense of direction of movement, i.e. it can be used in the same role as the particle -에 /e/. It can also have the meaning of ‘through’.
